SCU Admissions Requirements for the Online MLS

State Authorization
Santa Clara University is not authorized to offer online programs to residents of all states. We therefore may accept applications and enroll students into online programs only from states where we have obtained the required authorization or are exempt from such authorization requirements. For additional information, please consult the Online Education Information for Students page.
SCU Admissions Requirements
Students who have completed a four-year bachelor’s degree at an accredited college or university are eligible to apply to the Online MLS in Corporate Compliance program. At the time of application, please be prepared to submit the following:
- Completed application
- Two letters of recommendation
- Three guided short essays (4-5 paragraphs is the recommended length)
- GMAT or GRE scores sent directly to the institution from test center (waivers available for qualified applicants)
- Official transcripts*
- TOEFL scores must be submitted directly to Santa Clara Law from an official testing center for all applicants whose first language is not English
- $75 non refundable application fee**
*Electronic official transcripts should be delivered directly by your institution to mls@scu.edu. If necessary, hard copies of official transcripts should be mailed directly from the issuing institution to the address below. Note that in order for transcripts to be considered official, they must be emailed or mailed directly from the issuing institution to Santa Clara University at the address below:

Unofficial transcript option: To expedite the processing of your application, you can submit unofficial transcripts with the rest of your application materials and request official transcripts to be sent to us from your undergraduate and graduate institution(s) after receiving an admissions decision.
International applicants: Applicants with a degree from outside the United States are required to have their official transcripts evaluated by World Education Services (WES). We require course-by-course, cumulative GPA, and U.S. degree equivalency evaluation.
**This fee will be waived for all applicants for the fall 2020 term!
GMAT/GRE Waiver Requirements
To qualify for a GMAT or GRE waiver, applicants must meet at least one of the following requirements:
- Two or more years of full-time, postbaccalaureate professional work experience, OR
- A master’s degree, doctorate, or professional degree (J.D., M.D.) from an accredited institution, OR
- Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.2 or higher (on a 4.0 scale)
In addition to satisfying one or more of the above requirements, applicants with a foreign degree are also required to submit an evaluation from World Education Services.
The GMAT/GRE waiver application is part of the program application. A representative from SCU will notify you directly regarding a decision.
