Chris Guthrie, Vanderbilt Law School’s Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Professor of Law will be speaking at a Faculty Workshop on Friday, January 19, 2007 at noon in the Strong Common Room in Bergin Hall. The topic of his presentation is "Modernizing the Law School Curriculum: the Experience at Vanderbilt."
A leading scholar in the areas of dispute resolution and decision-making, Chris Guthrie has frequently been recognized for his research and teaching, including the 2001 CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution Professional Article prize (with Professor Jeffrey J. Rachlinski and Judge Andrew J. Wistrich), the 2003 CPR Institute for Dispute Resolution Professional Article Prize, and the 2003-2004 Outstanding First-Year Course Professor Award at Northwestern.
Dean Guthrie began his academic career at the University of Missouri School of Law, where he was Associate Dean, Associate Professor and Senior Fellow at the Center for the Study of Dispute Resolution. He has also served as a Visiting Professor at Washington University School of Law and Northwestern University Law School. Before entering the academy, Dean Guthrie practiced law with Fenwick & West in Palo Alto, California.
