Donna Gerson, consultant and author of Choosing Smart, Choosing Small will bring her expertise to Santa Clara to help law students and alumni identify, research, and pursue opportunities in the elusive smaller law firm market.
Her program at Santa Clara will be The Secrets of Small Firm Hiring on Wednesday, March 9 from 4:00-5:30 in Brass Rail in Benson Center.
Donna Gerson is the author of Choosing Small, Choosing Smart: Job Search Strategies for Lawyers in the Small Firm Market (NALP, 2001). Gerson serves as a contributing editor for Student Lawyer magazine (American Bar Association) and writes for Pennsylvania Lawyer magazine (Pennsylvania Bar Association) and other publications. Her latest publication, Going In-House: A Guide for Law Students and Lawyers (National Association for Law Placement, 2d edition, 2003), offers detailed information about pursuing in-house legal jobs.
Donna Gerson, an attorney licensed to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, practiced with both mid-sized and small law firms and continues to serve as a pro bono attorney for the Neighborhood Legal Services Association representing victims of domestic violence. A member of the American Bar Association, the Pennsylvania Bar Association, and the Allegheny County Bar Association, she creates and presents programs on career issues for the legal profession.
Gerson lives and works in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and travels throughout the United States visiting law schools and speaking with lawyers.
