Stephen Diamond was quoted in multiple press outlets about Elon Musk’s tweets about Tesla, which are supposed to be pre-approved by a company lawyer if they are about Tesla’s financial health, sales, or delivery numbers. In The Verge, Professor Diamond stated “If it was not vetted, he’s at risk of being hauled into court again by the SEC,” says Diamond. “The process was meant to catch these kinds of tweets before they went out. If he did it spontaneously, I think he’s gonna have an issue.” Professor Diamond was also quoted in Wired, Investor Place, and The Daily Wire about Musk’s tweets that Tesla’s stock was too high (after which the stock price quickly fell).
