Santa Clara Law congratulates Dori Rose Inda J.D. ’00 and Nick Livak ’59 JD ’62 who will receive awards in April from the SCU Alumni Association.
Dori Rose Inda ’00 will receive the 2012 Ignatian Award, which publicly recognizes alumni who live the SCU ideals of competence, conscience, and compassion and have been a credit to the Alumni Association and the University through outstanding service to humanity.
Dori Rose Inda is the founder and executive director of the Watsonville Law Center, which provides free legal services in the areas of workers’ rights, consumer protection, and barriers to employment. Read more about Ms. Inda.
Nick Livak B.A. ’59, JD ’62, will receive the 2012 The Louis I. Bannan, S.J. Award, which recognizes a single individual or couple who has given distinguished and outstanding service to the Alumni Association and Santa Clara University.
Livak has given more than 50 years of service to SCU. A trustee on the Bronco Bench, Livak has served on his committee every reunion year, and has helped with law school fundraising, the New Student Calling Program, and more. In addition, Livak attends many University events each year (e.g. First Friday Mass & Lunches, Golden Circle, Pasta Feed, Vintage Santa Clara and chapter events), is a vocal supporter at all men’s and women’s basketball games (and other sports), and was an SCU Ambassador. Livak has been an attorney for nearly 50 years and currently practices real estate and probate law in Santa Clara.
