Congratulations to the Santa Clara Law American Constitution Society chapter (ACS) which is being recognized with a Programming Award from the National ACS organization. ACS reviews every student chapter for the 2019-2020 year and grants awards to their strongest chapters who have conducted at least 15 substantive and compelling events during the school year. ACS announced that the SCU law chapter has ” helped to shape the debate on several issues, including gender equity, tech and privacy, voting, court capture, gender equity, impeachment, and immigration, and featured incredible judges and scholars throughout the year”.

The American Constitution Society realizes the promises of the U.S. Constitution by building and leading a diverse legal community that dedicates itself to advancing and defending democracy, justice, equality, and liberty; to securing a government that serves the public interest; and to guarding against the abuse of law and the concentration of power.

The award will be announced in the ACS weekly announcement on May 4 as well as during ACS’s 2020 Virtual Graduation Ceremony on May 26 at 4 PM ET / 1 PM PT.
