Santa Clara Law is one of the nation’s most outstanding law schools, according to The Princeton Review. Santa Clara is ranked #9 on the list of “Best Environment for Minority Students” in the new 2015 edition of “The Best 169 Law Schools” (Random House/Princeton Review, 2014).
Santa Clara University School of Law is frequently included in national rankings for its diversity. The school has been consistently ranked among the most diverse law schools in the United States by U.S. News and World Report magazine. In 2013, National Jurist magazine gave Santa Clara Law the “Diversity Grade” of A-, and in 2011, the Princeton Review also ranked Santa Clara Law in the top 10 on its list of schools that offer the best environment for minority law students.
In the 2014 entering class, 47 percent of students identified themselves as minorities. That figure was 41 percent in 2013, 43 percent in 2012, and 41 percent in 2011.
“We are proud to be again recognized for our diversity,” said Lisa Kloppenberg, dean of Santa Clara Law. “We take seriously our role in educating the world’s future lawyers, and we all agree that we need more diversity in the legal profession. That is one of the key reasons diversity is a priority here at Santa Clara Law,” she said. “We collaborate with many law school and university departments as well as the bench and bar to offer a number of programs that promote and support diversity,” said Kloppenberg. “We recognize that having a diverse student body enhances the learning experience for all of our students.”
