Santa Clara University School of Law is pleased to announce the appointment of Jenny Lynn Cox as Executive Director of the High Tech Law Institute and Assistant Dean for Intellectual Property and Technology Law Programs.  Ms. Cox previously served as Vice President for Legal Affairs, General Counsel and Secretary at Kana Software Inc. and CoVia Inc., and as corporate counsel at other Silicon Valley technology companies.  She practiced law with the New York law firm, Simpson, Thatcher and Bartlett and the San Francisco law firm of Brobeck, Pfleger and Harrison.  She is a graduate of Occidental College and the Columbia University Law School where she was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and served on the Journal of Law and Social Problems.  She serves on the Dean of Columbia’s Board of Visitors.

Assistant Dean Cox will direct the School of Law’s nationally recognized High Tech Law Institute and the intellectual property and technology law courses at the School of Law.  The Santa Clara University School of Law offers more than 50 courses in intellectual property and technology law, offers a (LL.M Program) for attorneys wishing to specialize in intellectual property and technology law, sponsors a scholarly journal publishes articles in the IP and technology areas and is one of the leading providers of professional educational programming for lawyers and other professionals in the intellectual property areas.  Assistant Dean Cox will work closely with Professor Tyler Ochoa, Academic Director of the School of Law’s High Tech Law Institute.
