Students and faculty had the opportunity to hear from Pablo Saavedra, the Secretary of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights on reparations available through the court for human rights violations.  Dr. Saavedra addressed the process for obtaining a hearing at the court, as well as the nature and substance of available reparations.  After his lecture, he made time to meet with interested students and faculty over lunch to answer questions and discuss issues of human rights in the Americas.

During his visit, Dr. Saavedra also took the opportunity to interview students interested in interning at the prestigious court this summer 2007 as part of the Costa Rica summer law study abroad program.  For more information about that program, please visit:  http://lawscuedustage.wpengine.com/international/.
