The High Tech Law Institute, Santa Clara University School of Law and the High Technology Law Section of the Santa Clara County Bar Association are presenting "Viacom v. YouTube (Google) Case: A review of Section 512 (DMCA)" on Tuesday, October 23, 2007. There will be a reception at 6:30 p.m. followed by a 7:00 p.m. panel discussion. This event will take place in the Wiegand Room in the Arts & Sciences Building on the Santa Clara University campus.
Join a panel of experts to discuss possible implications for significant issues raised by this litigation on DMCA Section 512. Some of the questions raised include:
- Who qualifies as a service provider?
- What does an obligation to "terminate repeat infringers" mean?
- What does it mean to "receive a financial benefit directly attributable" to infringing activity?
- What does it mean to have "right and ability to control" infringing activity?
Come hear the discussion about these questions and more.
Panelists:
Mindy M. Morton, Associate, Bergeson, LLP, Co-Chair, High Technology Law Section of the SCCBA
Professor Tyler Ochoa, Faculty Member, Santa Clara Law School
