HAMMER TIME: “Why Scott Peterson didn’t get Scott Free and other legal commentary by Legal Analyst Jim Hammer.”
Legal Analyst Jim Hammer will speak at Santa Clara University School of Law on January 26, 2005 at noon (Bannan 142). Mr. Hammer will discuss his recent media coverage of the Scott Peterson case and his inside story of successfully prosecuting the Diane Whipple/Sharon Smith Dog Mauling Case. He will also discuss how being gay has had an influence on his own career.
Mr. Hammer is a former Santa Clara University Law Professor who helped co-found the East San Jose Community Law Center (now known as the Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center). As a San Fransico Assistant District Attorney, Mr. Hammer led the district attorney’s homicide unit for three years.

BGLAd is an active and vital part of the Santa Clara University School of Law. The organization is concerned with the interests of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) persons at the law school and was founded on the basis to bring greater awareness and acceptance of diversity at Santa Clara University.
BGLAd’s goals are to increase outreach efforts to LGBT students, provide support to LGBT students, sponsor speakers on LGBT issues, develop ties with the larger civil rights community, and serve as an information source on LGBT legal issues for all students and the larger community.
