Ruby Marquez is an Assistant County Counsel at the Santa Cruz County Counsel’s Office. In this position, she provides legal advice and representation to multiple government departments and commissions. Prior to this, from 2012 to 2016, Ms. Marquez was a Senior Attorney at the Law Foundation of Silicon Valley, which provides free legal services to our community’s most undeserved and vulnerable populations. She first began training and supervising Santa Clara law students through the Fresh Lifelines for Youth (FLY) Legal Education program from 2009 to 2012. During law school, she interned at the Sacramento Public Defender’s Office and the UC Davis Immigration Clinic. In her free time, Ms. Marquez enjoys mentoring students of all ages and diverse backgrounds.
