Karla was born in Guadalajara, Jalisco.   In 2014, she received her J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law. Prior to law school Karla taught 6th-8th grade students at Sacred Heart Nativity. While at Santa Clara Law she interned at the Santa Clara District Attorney’s Office for two years and Bay Area Legal Aid.  Upon being admitted to the California Bar, Karla practiced immigration, civil litigation, and family law. She currently teaches Advanced Legal Writing.
