NCIP attorney Paige Kaneb was featured in a KPIX story about the questions being raised surrounding convictions based on shaken baby syndrome. The piece examines the tragic story of Kristian Aspelin, who was wrongly accused of child abuse after he slipped and fell in food his toddler dropped on the floor, dropping his baby.  Doctors thought the injuries pointed to shaken baby syndrome, but other doctors and experts warn that these symptoms can be caused by other medical conditions or traumas. Kaneb explained the danger of convicting people based on faulty science and pointed to the dozen convictions that have been overturned based on the unreliability of this evidence.
