On Friday, April 15, Janelle Barbier JD ’23 and Matthew Lem JD ’23 argued in the final round at the national rounds of competition in the AIPLA Giles S. Rich Moot Court Tournament and WON! They argued before a Federal Circuit panel of Judges Taranto, Dyk, and Bryson. Because the competition was virtual, the team was supported by a number of student observers both on-campus and online thanks in large part to the coordination of HMCE Director and competition manager Michael Wang JD ’22.
Special thanks go to the coaches, Daniel Richards from Ropes & Gray and Philip Marsh from Arnold & Porter, for volunteering their time to help the team. The team is also grateful to Professor Brian Love, Professor Mary Procaccio-Flowers, Professor Tyler Ochoa, and Profess or Michelle Galloway who worked with the team to help prepare for the national rounds. Finally, thank you to the many students who showed up to observe the round and support the team! Read more about the competition.
