The High Tech Law Institute is pleased to welcome Pat Bickley, Senior Corporate Counsel – IP, Seagate Technology and Roshen Prasad, Senior Corporate Counsel, Commercial Contracts, Seagate Technology, for a discussion on Open Source Licensing: How to Deal with Common In-House Use Cases.
As open source software continues to become more prevalent, in-house counsel needs to be able to identify and manage the attendant risks. Common use cases include a company’s use of open source software, distribution of a product containing open source software, sharing open source code with third parties, and contributing to and starting open source projects. Policies to consider implementing around each use case will also be discussed.
