Michael Vargas wrote an article for the San José Spotlight about bills being introduced to keep transgender youth from playing school team sports.
“These new laws…violate federal law. Title IX protects students from discrimination based on sex. Following the Supreme Court’s landmark Bostock decision, holding that discrimination against LGBTQ+ people is discrimination “because of sex,” the federal courts and the Biden Administration have held that Title IX similarly protects trans students from discrimination in education.”
