AI and Health Equity with Michele Samorani and Michael Santoro
Also co-sponsored by: Santa Clara Law Center for Social Justice and If/When/How: Lawyering for Reproductive Justice (Santa Clara University Chapter). Moderated by Professor Colleen Chien
The pandemic and other recent events have highlighted the lack of equity in many aspects of healthcare in the U.S. The infusion of artificial intelligence into healthcare decision-making promises new opportunities and poses new challenges. Join us for a discussion with Leavey School of Business Professors Michael Santoro and Michele Samorani, as they discuss their widely reported research documenting racial bias in medical book algorithms, systemic inequality in U.S. healthcare, and describe how to make healthcare systems more fair, just, and equitable. The discussion will be moderated by Professor Colleen Chien (Law) and law students, including from the If/When/How law student association.
