Lydia de la Torre, a 20-year veteran of EU, US and international data protection law, has joined Squire Patton Boggs as of counsel in the firm’s Data Privacy & Cybersecurity Practice, based in the firm’s Palo Alto, California office. Professor de la Torre will continue to teach comparative data protection law at Santa Clara Law.
“Lydia is a powerful addition to our California team, our US practice and our global platform,” said David Elkins, partner in the Palo Alto office. “We are also very pleased to deepen the firm’s connections with Santa Clara University Law School. We have had great experiences with the school’s graduates, and have long been impressed with its High Tech Law Institute, and more recently its Privacy Law Certificate program.”
