Brit Benjamin teaches Appellate Advocacy and Advanced Legal Writing. She joined the Santa Clara Law faculty in 2017. Her scholarship focuses on reproductive and life-extension biotechnology, competitive governance, and economic analysis of law. She coaches an HMCE Negotiation Team and prides herself on her availability to her students.
She has been featured in The Recorder, The San Francisco Chronicle, The Los Angeles Times, The New York Times, and MSNBC, among others.
She is a proud alumna of Santa Clara University School of Law. During her time at Santa Clara, she served as President and Treasurer of the Student Bar Association and Family Law Society. She clerked for the Honorable Roberta S. Hayashi, competed with the HMCE Negotiation Team, and assisted with research. Brit completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California at Berkeley, earning an interdisciplinary B.A. in Globalization and International Trade.
Brit lives in the Santa Cruz Mountains in Los Gatos. She is a prolific songwriter and guitarist, having written over 450 original songs. She is a member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and enjoys reading, homesteading crafts, and arguing with people who are wrong on the Internet.
