“Being in the water is liberating. When I swim, I feel like I can do anything, and that’s something I have learned from being a client at the Alexander Community Law Center.”
The Law Center first helped Mr. G to attain legal residence based on humanitarian reasons. He now hopes to obtain American citizenship thanks to the efforts of the law students who have worked on his case for the last two years. “The assistance and the respectful service that the Law Center students and staff have offered me inspires me to do things for others and for myself. The way you have treated me has taught me that there are no limits, that I can do anything I set my mind to.”
Mr. G has thus insisted on translating documents for other clients, particularly Dreamers who seek the assistance of the Law Center for immigration relief. Like the services he receives, he offers his valuable work free of charge. This work has also inspired him to return to school, as he plans to continue his studies at San José City College in the near future. “Wouldn’t it be awesome if my nephews saw me graduate from college? Think of the message it would send to them. Anything is possible!”
