Santa Clara University School of Law alumnus Matt Faustman ’09 has been named one of LinkedIn’s Next Wave Top Professionals 35 & Under for his work on UpCounsel. Described as a cross between eHarmony and Uber, UpCounsel matches small businesses with pre-screened attorneys to help companies avoid expensive law firms and help freelance lawyers find work.
The list of professionals 35 and under was surfaced by LinkedIn data and more, indicating 10 individuals in law who are having an impact on clients and courtrooms. As LinkedIn writes, “[Faustman’s] site not only helps connect companies and lawyers, but provides tools to make processes like organizing documents simpler. The costs for clients can be half of traditional firms since there’s none of the Big Law overhead — fancy offices, high-priced partner salaries, etc.”
