Law school is one of the most mentally and emotionally challenging experiences a post-graduate student can have. According to the ABA, up to 40% of students report experiencing depression by their third year of law school. 96% of law students report feeling stress compared with 70% of med students and 43% of graduate students.
The American Bar Association has designated March 27th as Mental Health Day. This provides a great opportunity to raise awareness and educate law students and their families about critical mental health issues. The law school has partnered with the Dave Nee Foundation and Mental Health Screening.org to offer free, confidential screenings at screening.mentalhealthscreening.org/santa-clara-university-school-of-law.
This a great time for students to check in on their stress levels. Screenings are a quick, confidential, and informative first step towards being free from overwhelming stress or depression.
