We have scheduled the next on-campus IAPP certification test for Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at 9:00 am in Bannan 139 (Note to graduating students: our understanding is that Bar/Bri begins on May 20). Our apologies if you would have preferred a different date. If that date doesn’t work for you, we anticipate offering another on-campus test in January 2016, or you can always take one of the IAPP’s computer-based exams at your expense. Costs are as follows:
Retake: $162 per exam. If you need to retake both the Foundation and CIPP test, the total cost would be $324.
First Time: $550 to take both the Foundation and CIPP tests. Note that the IAPP is moving to a new single exam (instead of the Foundations + CIPP separate tests) in June. It’s unclear if the new test will be easier or harder than the current test, or what the cost will be. As a result, we don’t have a recommendation whether it’s better to take the tests now or wait for the new test.
If you want to take a computer-based exam at your expense, contact Courtney Gabrielson, cgabrielson@privacyassociation.org or 1-603-427-9200 x292.
If you want to sit for the May 19 test offering, please contact Dorice Kunis at dkunis@scu.edu by March 17, 2015. Indicate which exam(s), Foundation or CIPP, that you wish to take. If you haven’t registered with the IAPP as a student member ($50/yr), you need to do so to get the free on-campus test.
Finally, we surveyed students who took the January 2015 on-campus test to gather information about their experiences with the test. Contact Dorice Kunis at dkunis@scu.edu if you’d like to know more about the survey results.
