The Santa Clara Computer & High Technology Law Journal announced today that it began accepting submissions for its 2004 Comment Contest, sponsored by the law firm of Pillsbury Winthrop LLP. The Journal is one of the oldest and most prestigious student-published intellectual property law journals. First place prize is $2,000 with a guaranteed offer of publication in Volume 21 of the Journal. Second prize is $1,500. Third prize is $1,000.
“One of the Journal’s fundamental goals is to encourage scholarly writing in future generations of lawyers,” said James Huie, Senior Comments Editor for Volume 21. “Pillsbury Winthrop shares our commitment by providing support and lawyers who act as independent judges.”
The panel of judges for this year’s contest includes attorneys from many of the nation’s leading law firms and corporations, federal circuit court judges, and law school professors. The prizes will be awarded to the comments that receive the highest scores from the review panel.
