costa_rica_court.jpgJessica Tillson (SCU 2L) clerked for the prestigious Inter-American Court of Human Rights in San Jose, Costa Rica.  The Court hears claims for violations of human rights against member states, and usually sits in panels of 7-8 judges drawn from the member states.  Ms. Tillson, who is fluent in Spanish, reviewed evidence, researched issues, and drafted documents for the Court.  Ms. Tillson participated in this judicial externship seminar from Costa Rica via web cam – a first for the School of Law.

home_rachel_internship.jpgRachel Hsiao (SCU 2L) interned with a judge in the High Court of Hong Kong’s Court of First Instance, and was involved with an important case challenging the constitutionality of certain provisions of Hong Kong’s Crimes Ordinance.  The decision was handed down this fall amid much media attention.  Ms. Hsiao participated in this internship program as part of the School of Law summer law studies abroad program in Hong Kong.
