Injustice in the Criminal Law System: Fact and Fiction

 

Santa Clara University School of Law will host a lively panel discussion featuring Kyle MacLachlan, star of the new ABC show “In Justice,” and three men and women who were wrongfully convicted in California on Thursday, February 2nd at 12:00 noon in the Panelli Moot Court Room at Santa Clara University School of Law.

 

Kyle MacLachlan, whose screen credits include Twin Peaks and Sex in the City, stars in the new ABC show “In Justice.” This hour-long dramatic series depicts the struggles of an Innocence Project as they work to free men and women who have been unjustly convicted.  Kyle will talk about his experience in molding his fictional character to real-life attorneys as well as the differences between real-life Innocence Projects and how their work is portrayed in his show.

 

Gloria Killian, John Stoll, and Rick Walker were wrongfully convicted and imprisoned in California for crimes they did not commit. They will share their stories as well as their personal insights into our criminal justice system.

 

The panel will be introduced by Professor Cookie Ridolfi, Executive Director of the Northern California Innocence Project, and moderated by Linda Starr, Legal Director of the Northern California Innocence Project.
