Donna Terman has joined Santa Clara University School of Law as Senior Assistant Dean for Administration, a position held for many years by Cathy Teran.

 

Dean Terman is a graduate (with highest distinction, Phi Beta Kappa) from Purdue University and from Stanford University‘s law school.  For eleven years, she served as Executive Director of the Walter S. Johnson Foundation and, later, for six years as Issue Editor and Policy Analyst for the Future of Children project at the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.  She also served as Trust Administrator for the William R. Hewlett Revocable Trust and as a consultant for several area private and family foundations.  She comes highly recommended from the Executive Director and President of the Packard Foundation who described her as an extremely competent administrator with very good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to complete complicated projects in a timely manner.

 

Dean Terman began her duties as Senior Assistant Dean on January 25, 2006 and was selected for the position after a national search, chaired by Associate Dean Mary Emery that resulted in more than 40 applications.  Dean Donald J. Polden stated “I appreciate Dean Emery’s tremendous work reviewing these candidates and the faculty and staff members who met with the leading candidates during their campus visits.”

 

Dean Terman lives in Menlo Park with her husband Bill Brown and their daughter Rachel, a freshman at Menlo-Atherton High School. Their son Russell is a sophomore at UC Davis.
