Santa Clara University School of Law is pleased to announce a semester abroad program in Australia, in cooperation with the University of Technology, Sydney (UTS) School of Law whereby Santa Clara graduates, after passing a state bar examination in the United States, can be admitted to practice law in Australia.

A limited number of selected Santa Clara students during their third year of legal studies would spend the fall semester studying a set of prescribed courses on Australian law at UTS. Twelve units would count toward their Santa Clara JD degree. Students then complete their final spring semester in residence at Santa Clara. Upon graduation and immediately after passing a state bar examination, the Santa Clara graduate would then become eligible for membership in the bar of New Sough Wales. No further examination, no experience requirement, no Australian citizenship is required. Study one semester in Sydney, graduate from Santa Clara University School of Law, pass a U.S. bar examination and also be admitted in Australia.

Santa Clara law students who are interested in this program should contact the Center for Global Law and Policy at cglp@scu.edu for more information and application procedures.
