Santa Clara University School of Law’s International Law Journal recently announced its new Executive Board for Volume VI. The new Executive Board members are:

Audrey Redmond, Editor in Chief, has an Aeronautical Engineering degree from Purdue University where she played lacrosse and was a member of the National Aerospace Engineering Honor Society. She then worked for NASA at Johnson Space Center in Mission Control on the International Space Station program. During her time there she worked closely with the Russian Space Agency, traveling to Moscow twice to work at the Russian Mission Control Center. While in Houston she started a high school lacrosse program and was head coach there for four years. Audrey spent last summer in Geneva studying International Organizations and then Strasbourg at the Rene Cassin International Institute for Human Rights.

Brian Johnson, Managing Editor, graduated from UCLA, with a major in History and minors in English and Public Policy and departmental honors in History for completion of a senior honors thesis.This past summer he participated in SCU Law’s 2006 Geneva-Strasbourg summer abroad program and attened the 37th Annual Rene Cassin International Institute of Human Right in Strasbourg, France. At Santa Clara he is a member of the Phi Delta Phi International Legal Fraternity and competed in the 2007 Internal Honors Moot Competition.

Leslie Frost, Senior Technical Editor, has a diverse academic background, encompassing science, law and diplomacy.  After receiving her BA in biology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, she went on to get her MA in diplomatic studies with distinction at the Diplomatic Academy of London, University of Westminster in the UK.  Before returning to the US for law school, she studied British and EU law in London for a year.  Last summer, she interned for UNICEF in Pristina, Kosovo.  She also participated in the first annual ICRC International Humanitarian Law Workshop hosted by Santa Clara University Law School last February. 

Nhi Le-Tran, Senior Comments Editor, graduated with a B.S. in Computer Science, with a minor in Classical Civilizations, from UCLA.  At UCLA, she served as the web developer for the Society of Women Engineers and as a volunteer for One-on-One Tutoring, a tutoring program geered towards inner city kids grades K-6.  Following college, Nhi received an M.S. in Software Engineering from Santa Clara University.  Before starting law school, she worked as a web developer at PayPal and also tutored high school kids at the School of Independent Learners.  Since her 1L summer, Nhi has been an intern at Sun Microsystems in the Global Law Network group.

Amber East, Senior Articles Editor, graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (School of Theater, Film and Television), with a B.A. in Theater. In 2001, she was a recipient of UCLA’s Carol Burnett Award. She has performed in countless plays and musicals and is very pleased to now perform merely as a hobby (if at all) and not for a career. She completed her first year of law school at Brooklyn Law School in Brooklyn, NY. Prior to transferring to SCU, School of Law, she studied in Beijing, China at the University of International Business and Economics for part of the summer of 2006. For the other part of that summer she worked as a mediator for the Better Business Bureau and volunteered at an entertainment law firm in NYC. This past fall she interned at Temmerman and Cilley, LLP, a trusts and estates law firm in San Jose. She is happy to be back in the SF bay area after living away for the last 8 years!

The Journal of International Law also welcomes the new volume VI boardmembers: Monica Davis (Co-Symposium Director, Articles Editor); Sophie Davies (Articles Editor, Tech Editor); Ravi Bendapudi (Articles Editor, Tech Editor); and Brina Latkin (Tech Editor, Business Editor).
