KGACLC Advisory Board

Katharine & George Alexander Community Law Center

The Katharine and George Alexander Community Law Center is a project of Santa Clara University, and as such the University’s Board of Trustees is its governing body. However, the KGACLC recognizes the need to be responsive to those it is intended to serve, and therefore has its own Advisory Board, which meets quarterly or as needs may dictate. “The Law Center opened its doors while I was in law school. I was fortunate enough to help with client intake for day laborers in those early days. Twenty years later I came back for the 20th reunion and got re-acquainted with my law school peers and was so impressed at what the Law Center had become. I feel so fortunate to now be able to support this amazing organization and give back to my community.” – Patricia Timm JD ’96

“The Law Center was one of my best experiences in law school – by far the most relevant, useful, and meaningful teaching and mentoring I received. It is a fantastic resource for students and, of course, an invaluable asset to the community it serves. Also, my work at the law center helped me pass the bar! The first case file essay dealt with representing a client with CLRA claims. My fellow Law Center certified law student Chris D’Anjou sat a few rows behind me in the test center, and we looked at each other after reading the prompt and just laughed at our luck.” – Steven Kahn JD ’04
