Jeff Goldfien is the HealthCare Ombudsman/Mediator at Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara, CA, Medical Center. In that role, he is responsible for a conflict management program that serves patients and families as well as physicians and other care providers. In addition to conflict resolution services, he provides internal consulting, coaching, training, education, and other services for Kaiser.
Jeff has served as Adjunct Professor of Law at the University of California, Hastings College of Law, teaching courses in negotiation and dispute resolution, and has also taught negotiation courses at the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, Boalt Hall. He also served as a consultant to the Center for Collaborative Policy at California State University, Sacramento, where he designed and facilitated complex multi-party collaborative decision making and dispute resolution processes involving governmental, public, nonprofit, and private stakeholders. He is also a member the mediation panel of the Federal District Court for the Northern District of California.
Jeff’s articles on dispute resolution have been published in leading academic journals, including the Ohio State Journal on Dispute Resolution and the Journal of Dispute Resolution.
